How Do Improve My Archery Skills?

I’m quite new to the whole archery scene. I bought a beginners recurve bow and now I want improve my archery skills. I would also like to add sights, shock absorbers and so on. Anyone willing to explain what they do exactly, and how they are connected to a recurve bow. I have been doing a little reading up but it still leaves me a little confused. As you become more familiar with the modern recurve bow you will want to know the popular terminology associated with it. Starting with:- Arrow rest : This is Where the arrow rests during draw. These can be simple fixed rests or may be spring-loaded or magnetic flip rests. Compound Or Recurve

Selecting which bow to use is something only you can decide.It is a good idea to try both types first to give you a feeling for the bow that suits you best. The recurve bow is used in competition and hunting as is the compound bow and is the more traditional bow. The recurve bow has less moving parts than the compound bow and is easier to tune and maintain. The main downside is it’s ‘draw weight’ where the full strength of the bow must be held by the fingers, this requires a degree of strength to properly control the bow. The compound bow is the standard bow used for hunting, and allows the archer to have more power at his/her finger tips with a lot less effort than other bow types because of a series of cables and pulleys. Before starting archery you should decide on the type of archery you wish to do, target shooting or bowhunting.  Make sure you have somewhere safe to shoot, that the archery equipment is adequate for it’s intended purpose and you have a qualified instructor with you. With proper instruction you will learn very quickly how to shoot a bow and arrow. Becoming proficient at it will take longer depending upon your attitude and determination.
